I’m told I have to go back and watch some old tokusatsu. Mainly Jetman and Bioman. I always try to look for old tokusatsu, but I wish I had more time ti watch them. That’s why I’m playing catch-up with some of the series’ that are considered classic. Here’s one that I would consider classic in every sense of the word. The 1966 original Ultraman! I found this little fun piece of history in Target a few weeks ago. Now, I usually talk about Super Sentai and Kamen Rider here, but Ultraman is a classic sentai which also has had great runs in Japan and America. The original 1966 series is the campy fun that you expect, but at times gets to Doctor Who or Twilight Zone levels of creepy (not scary, but at times off-putting). It is truly a great show, and if you can find this in your local stores, pick it up. A whole 20 episodes for $5? You can’t pass that up!
