Power Rangers: Samurai Returns October 1st!
September 17th, 2011 | by Trevor Kent
News from Saban through @PowerRangersNews:
#PRSamurai returns with new eps Saturday Oct. 1st at 12n/11c only on @NickelodeonTV! Stay tuned for five weeks of premieres! #powerrangers
My Ranger Reviews will return as well for the next five episodes. Why so spaced out, Saban? I’m guessing it’s due to some statistics of when people watch based on the Back to School and Christmas seasons, but man, it’s still a bit annoying. However, I’ll be right back watching Nick soon enough to give my thoughts about the show! Go Go Samurai!
Friday’s Comic Will Appear on Saturday
September 15th, 2011 | by Trevor KentI’ll be moving Friday’s update to Saturday, due to a lot of stress I’ve been under these past few weeks. This week just kind of sealed it, and I’m tired, in a lot of pain, and very stressed out.
With Apologies,
Trevor
It was great to take that day off. Comics will return Monday, and I feel much better about it right now, and a tad less stressed out! See you Monday!
So, as of now the site has been running pretty well. I made a few changes, mostly cosmetic. Also, there is a Google Plus button at the top, which you can all click to add me to your circles. I will add you to a special “Readers Circle” if you send me a message on Google Plus, which I will hopefully be using for exclusive content and previews. And those cosmetic changes? What does this thing mean up here? ”この番組はご覧のスポンサアの提供でお送りします。” Well, if you’ve ever watched a sentai show, or any show from Japan for that matter, it means “This program is brought to you by these sponsors.” The banner below it is an ad for Spiderforest, a wonderful collective I am part of. Clicking on the banners, or “more” will bring you to other comics in the Spiderforest Network, so go check them out, too!
I have also added myself to a new site called InkOutbreak, an awesome rss feed site devoted to webcomics. It works like Pandora or Tivo, in where you mark what you like, and then finds comics that you might also like. It’s a really cool idea, and the creator has a passion for webcomics, not just for success of his site or ad money. If you make an account on Ink, follow me, and you’ll be automatically added to my InkOutbreak Reader Block, located to the right side of this blog.
So what am I doing? Well, many of you may notice that a few comics haven’t gone up right at 12AM. I try hard to get them up as close as possible, but I’ve been pulling a lot of extra hours at work in an effort to make more money to pay back my student loans. In addition to that, I’ve been teaching my kendo class three days a week, and have pretty much been going as much as I can while still putting the comic out. The last thing I would like to do is bring the update schedule down. If that ever happens, perhaps if I get overworked during Christmas, follow my Twitter for updates!
Hey everyone!
As you might have seen, I’ve been experimenting with a few things in the comic, and will continue to try a few new things over the course of the week. If you really like something, feel free to speak up in the comments section! I love hearing feedback from you all. Speaking of feedback, I’ve been getting a few people commenting on the strips, and even having some short conversations. I love that! It makes me feel good that I’ve been providing something worth talking about. I’m hoping that the end of this Episode will spark some more discussion, because I’ve got something really great coming up that I think will spark some attention. The current story is what I’m going to call a “Multi-Part Episode,” and I’m really excited about it. I hope you all enjoy it!
In addition to that, next week I will be appearing at Anibash in Seneca Park, Rochester, NY. As I’ve stated before, it’s free to stop by, and there’s a map below if you need directions! I will be joined by my amazing colleagues Karen, Pete, and Mike, and possibly some others. They’re the only ones who have confirmed that they are going, so I will only list them for now. It starts at 10:30AM and runs until 9PM. I hope to see you there! Also, if you tell me that you saw this post, I will give you something for free, whether it be a set of Art Cards, a sketch, or something else. I’ll figure it out based on what I have at the show.
Thanks for reading, and get ready for Episode 6 in a couple weeks!
UPDATE: The current line up of creators who will be appearing with me at Anibash 2011 is as follows:
Michael Donohue – The Cow
Karen Howard – War of Winds
Chris Watkins – Odori Park
Peter Tarkulich – Bardsworth
Hey all! Kind of disappeared from the blog for a bit, sorry for that! Well, I have some interesting news for everyone: I quit my job for reasons I won’t explain. However, I have gotten my old job at Toys R Us back! In fact, I get to start work there 2 days after I quit the other job. I also get to work the Karate Kid Camp at the dojo I teach Kendo at the day before I start. So everything that happened at my previous job (where I only stayed for 3 weeks) has been remedied in the same day.
Next, I will be appearing at a local convention, Anibash, on Sunday, August 7th at Seneca County Park at the Longhouse Shelter.

There’s a map for you if you don’t know where it is. It’s completely free to go to, and runs from 10:30AM – 9:00PM! I will be there with my friends Mike and Kez, and possibly some others. Last year was a wonderful time, and I hope that you can make it out to say hi and even get a sketch! Plus, August 7th is my birthday, so if you want, you can bring me a birthday present too! I will see you there!
I hate to do this, but after last week, and seeing how this week is only getting slightly better, I’ve decided to take this week off. This isn’t some indefinite hiatus or a “I’m bored with Chromacorps” post. I love doing this comic and bringing it out every time. No, I just have to take this week to recover and rest, focus on getting healthy, and then come back ready to do more work. If I attempt to do that now, I would probably force myself to get sick again, and I’d be right back where I’ve started. I’ve watched Gokaiger 17, it was a lot of fun, and I really like the new character, even though he is a bit annoying. Anyways, since starting this comic, I’ve tried to never miss updates, but in my current state, I’d rather get healthier than produce work that isn’t at my ability. Thanks for sticking with me, and if you want to send off some guest art or guest comics, I’ll happily post them, as long as they are G rated. Comics will return Monday, when I will hopefully be back in action!
Ok, Sunday I came down with a terrible cold, and have been pretty much been laying in bed since then, every now and then getting up to get cold medicine or cough drops. No appetite and a very painful cough has made Trevor a very sad boy. I’m posting about this here because this is my week on the SpiderForest Comic of the Week. Everyone who clicked on those links, thank you so much! Click back in the archives for full color strips (this one will be colored soon), and click here for the beginning of the comic! I hope you all enjoy my work, and I will definitely try to get an update for Friday. It really depends on if I’m still sick or not, but I’ll try to push through. It is going away though, so maybe I’ll be able to work tomorrow. Gokaiger Reviews will return next week. Have a great day!
Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 16 “Clash! Sentai vs Sentai”
June 9th, 2011 | by Trevor KentMarvelous is hot on the trail to find and rescue his friends, but he can’t track their Mobirates. This entire episode revolves around what Basco had told him at the end of the previous episode, “You have to throw something away to gain something.” He thinks about this for a while, until Basco calls him up, in a friendly, excited tone.
Power Rangers: Samurai – Episode 16: “Boxed In” Review
June 7th, 2011 | by Trevor KentHey everyone! Saturday’s Episode was “Boxed In,” the conclusion to the previous episode. Will Jayden be alright? Will the team be able to save him in time? What will Antonio do? Read on!
The team is resting up, Ji and Antonio watching over them. Ji tells Antonio of what he needs to do. Antonio wants to help Jayden, but Ji insists that he concentrate on the Black Box, as that’s what Jayden would have told him to do as well. Antonio wonders if he can even do it, because he doesn’t have any training in Symbol Power, plus the previous Red Ranger couldn’t do it. However, Ji trusts him and his technical skill. Kevin tries to get up to help, but he’s in too much pain to move. Elsewhere, Deker walks into a lake with Jayden, and drops him in. Jayden wonders what’s going on, but Deker tells him to stay under, as the water will cure him from the poison.
