Everyone knows about the katana, and the sword is a part of many martial arts, most notably Ken-do/justu, Iai-do/jutsu, and in ChromaBlue’s case – Aikido. It’s pretty obvious why ChromaBlue would pull it out to attack the Tamashiinaki. However, ChromaRed pulls out a relatively lesser known weapon called the dan bong (단봉). The dan bong is a very small, quick, and lethal weapon that is studied not in Taekwondo, but in another Korean martial art – Kuk sool won. They were a concealed weapon, often taking shape as a wooden flute, but being a striking weapon as well. Easily transportable, and very versatile, the dan bong concentrates strength into a smaller surface area, protects the hand from being damaged (as punching or blocking in a real fight can hurt the attacker as much as the reciever), and also could be an effective projectile. Unlike most short sticks in martial arts, the dan bong are held in the center, and the practitioner uses both ends for blocking and striking.
